Trick or treating is a highlight of the fall for lots of kids here in Port Credit. A full candy bag can get heavy by the end of the night, so here are a few simple ways to help your little ones carry their haul home comfortably.

4 candy bag tips

  1. Bend your knees when you lift the bag. Squat down to pick it up instead of bending over at the waist.
  2. Keep the bag close to your body, and the phone in your pocket. Holding the weight close is easier than carrying it out at arm's length, and a phone tucked away keeps both hands free for the bag.
  3. Switch sides often. Swap the bag to the other hand every few houses so one side doesn't do all the work.
  4. Use a two strap bag for kids. A backpack style bag with two straps spreads the weight across both shoulders.
