5 common neck conditions
- Desk and phone posture strain. An ache at the base of the neck or top of the shoulders after long hours at a laptop or looking down at a phone.
- Stiff neck and muscle tension. Turning your head feels tight or limited, often worse in the morning or at the end of a long day.
- Neck-related tension headaches. Headaches that start at the back of the head or neck and build as the day goes on.
- Whiplash after a car accident. Neck pain, stiffness or headaches that show up in the hours or days after a collision, even a minor one.
- Pain or tingling that travels into the arm. Neck pain that comes with tingling, numbness or aching down the arm can mean a nerve is irritated.

When to get urgent care
